Disney Lorcana’s upcoming third set, Into the Inklands, will introduce a new card type called Location cards. Lead game designer Steve Warner recently provided details about these cards on the official Discord server. Locations will have an Ink cost and some will be Inkable, allowing them to be converted into a resource for casting more powerful cards. Locations will enter play active and won’t need to “dry” before taking effect. Characters can move onto locations and take advantage of their effects by paying the Move cost. Location cards earn controlling players Lore at the beginning of their turn, and opponents can challenge them to banish them. Characters can challenge Locations directly without taking damage in return. The introduction of Locations has been planned for a while, and the team wants to see them in future sets as well. Into the Inklands will feature plenty of cards designed to interact with Locations. The set will launch on February 23rd, 2024, and will follow the release of Rise of the Floodborn. Ravensburger is committed to releasing four core sets per year as part of its 10-year plan to support the TCG’s long-term future.
