Fantasy Flight Games is set to launch a new collectible card game (CCG) called Star Wars Unlimited in March 2024. The game aims to attract both new players and existing CCG fans and collectors to the Star Wars franchise. The company has ambitious plans for the game, with nine sets already in the works. The first set, called Spark of Rebellion, will be released on March 8th, 2024. The product lineup for Spark of Rebellion has also been revealed, with a focus on simplicity to appeal to new players. The second set, Shadows of the Galaxy, is scheduled for release in July 2024, followed by the third set, Twilight of the Republic, in November 2024. Fantasy Flight plans to release sets every three to four months, with plans in place until 2027. The company’s decision to reveal their long-term plans for Star Wars Unlimited is aimed at assuring players of their commitment to the game’s future. With the success of other franchise-themed CCGs, such as Lord of the Rings and Disney’s Lorcana, Fantasy Flight hopes to challenge the dominance of games like Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon with the Star Wars franchise.
