The museum released a teaser video and an art piece showcasing a Sunflora in the style of Van Gogh’s work. The exhibition, located on the Permanent collection Floor 1 of the museum, will display Pokémon paintings inspired by Van Gogh, including Pikachu with a grey felt hat, Snorlax, and Sunflora. It is unclear whether these paintings are digital or real paint on canvas. The museum is also offering activities such as Pokémon art classes and a special Pikachu trading card as a reward for completing an art hunt. The exhibition will run from September 28th, 2023, until January 7th, 2024. In addition to the exhibition, the museum is selling Pokémon merchandise, including t-shirts, totes, sketchbooks, plushies, and vinyl figures. An exclusive Pikachu trading card, inspired by Van Gogh’s ‘Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat’ painting, will also be available. The promo cards and merchandise will only be available in the Netherlands during the exhibition.
