A Magic: The Gathering fan has created a planeswalker card called ‘Ramaz the Reckless and Free’ that can be used as a fourth player in an MTG Commander game when there are only three people available to play. The card, created by Twitter user dusty cupboards, operates automatically and does not use a Commander deck. Instead, it creates 3/1 ‘Carnivore’ creatures and sends them to attack the player with the most life. Ramaz has a range of powers, including dealing damage to each player, buffing his army with counters, tapping creatures down, and forcing sacrifices. The card’s power level increases as it gets closer to death, unlocking new abilities and giving its creatures lifelink at under 10 life. However, the design of Ramaz may be considered too strong, as it can create a 3/1 creature and buff it to a 4/2 on turn one. Despite this, the concept of an NPC player card is intriguing, and there is potential for more cards representing different MTG strategies, such as an aggressive horde variant or a control variant. This opens up the possibility for new and diverse gameplay experiences in MTG Commander games.
