The MTG Lord of the Rings holiday release on November 3 has caused a significant decrease in the value of some Magic: The Gathering cards. The Henneth Annun version of Reflecting Pool, previously valued at $137.80, has dropped to $13.54. Similarly, the Dol Amroth version of Minamo, School at Water’s Edge has decreased in value from $132.62 to $77.01. The holiday release includes 24 new cards, with the rest being reprints, some with alternate art. This has not been enough to preserve the value of the original cards. Wargamer is monitoring Magic: The Gathering price changes and notes that not all changes are negative, with some cards experiencing price spikes.
