The release date for MTG Fallout is approaching, and more spoilers are being revealed. In October, some cards from the MTG Fallout Commander decks were previewed, including the Nuka-Cola Vending Machine and V.A.T.S. Now, a new card has been spoiled, Almost Perfect, which fits into the Dogmeat, Ever Loyal Commander deck. This card references the Almost Perfect perk from Fallout 3, boosting a creature’s power and toughness to 9/10 and making it indestructible. The card is an Aura, not an Equipment, as it modifies the creature’s stats, not its armor.
From a gameplay perspective, Almost Perfect is important in the Dogmeat Commander deck, protecting the Commander and allowing for the accumulation of Junk tokens. It also works well in other decks, such as those built around Danitha, New Benalia’s Light or Esper Sentinel. However, the risk of being blown out by a removal spell with Almost Perfect on the stack is a concern. Ways to cheat big Auras into play, such as Retether, Replenish, Storm Herald, and Nomad Mythmaker, can mitigate this risk.
Overall, Almost Perfect is a flavorful addition to the MTG Fallout set and has strong usage when built around. The card pays homage to Fallout 3 and offers strategic advantages in gameplay.
