Magic: the Gathering’s newest plane, Thunder Junction, is unique in that it was not originally inhabited but gained its inhabitants through the Omenpaths. These paths were opened as a consequence of the events in March of the Machine, allowing characters, not just Planeswalkers, to travel between planes. The current story unfolding in Thunder Junction involves a heist with various MTG villains, including Kaervek, who has not been seen in some time. Kaervek, a villain from Zhalfir, escaped his prison when the plane phased back in after being replaced by Phyrexia. He used an Omenpath to leave Zhalfir. Kaervek has appeared on MTG cards since 1996, with his most recent card being printed in Double Masters 2022. He is confirmed to appear in the Outlaws of Thunder Junction story, along with other characters from recent tales. This story arc is expected to be the end of the current arc and is reminiscent of the War of the Spark storyline. It will be interesting to see how the events unfold in Thunder Junction.
