Magic’s newest Universes Beyond crossover, MTG Fallout, has introduced four new Fallout-themed Commander decks and Collector Boosters with expensive reprints. Despite some misprint issues, the set has been well-received by Commander players, leading to price shifts in the market. While primarily intended for Commander, MTG Fallout is also legal in Legacy and Vintage, although some cards may not be competitive in these formats. However, the absence of MTG Fallout on Magic Online has frustrated the eternal format player base, as the platform is crucial for Legacy and Vintage play due to its lack of a reserved list and global player base.
This is not the first time MTGO has faced delays in adding new expansion sets, as seen with the Warhammer 40,000 Commander decks. The absence of key cards like Triumph of Saint Katherine caused a divide between paper and online Eternal play. Fans of Legacy and Vintage are disappointed by the lack of support for these formats on Magic Online and question the decision to make MTG Fallout legal in these formats without an online release. The future of MTG Fallout on MTGO remains uncertain, with no guarantee of its addition in the future.
