A new multiplayer format called Gloryfinder is being introduced to the anime-themed collectible card game Shadowverse: Evolve. This format is inspired by Magic: The Gathering’s popular Commander format and allows players to build a deck of 50 cards led by a leader card that matches the leader’s class. Players can also have up to 20 cards in their evolve deck, which can be more powerful characters without any class restrictions or duplicates.

Players start the game with a Glory Card outside of their main deck, similar to summoning a commander in MTG. The format is designed for casual multiplayer matches with three or more players, each starting with different amounts of evolution points and more defense points than the standard mode. Play points will start at two instead of zero.

The Gloryfinder format was playtested during the Bushiroad Championship Series tournament and will be released with four preconstructed decks on July 19th. These decks contain 62 new cards designed specifically for multiplayer mode and are labeled for restricted use in standard play due to their increased power. Shadowverse: Evolve is a trading card game based on the digital card game Shadowverse, with a sequel planned for release this year.
