Wizards of the Coast, the maker of Dungeons & Dragons, recently released information about upcoming brand partnerships and new products. This includes release dates for updated core rulebooks, details about new adventure supplements, and partnerships with LEGO, Converse, and Pop-Tarts. The LEGO partnership was announced after a D&D-themed competition on LEGO’s IDEAS website, with the winning design featuring a green dragon and other D&D elements. The Converse and Pop-Tarts collaborations are less detailed, but Converse has a history of branded shoes and Pop-Tarts may feature D&D-themed flavors. Additionally, the son of D&D co-creator Gary Gygax has his own line of fantasy-themed lifestyle clothing, including two shoe designs. These collaborations align with Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks’ vision of promoting D&D as a brand, not just a tabletop RPG, in order to boost sales. This is part of Hasbro’s strategy to maintain value and sales, as D&D and Magic: The Gathering have been key revenue drivers for the company.
