Disney-owned trading card game Lorcana has announced the launch of official tournaments in the US and Europe, with plans for a world championship next year. The competitive circuit will begin in May 2024 and will include regional qualifiers leading up to North American and European Championships. The top four winners from each event will earn an automatic invite to the national championship. The North American and European Championships will take place in Q4 2024, with the World Championship scheduled for 2025. More information about the competitive season will be shared in March, including event schedules, registration details, and prize information. Additionally, smaller-scale Set Championships will take place within local game store organized play, offering unique rewards for participants. Ravensburger also announced the release dates for the next three Lorcana sets, fulfilling their promise to release four expansions every year. Retailers can learn how to host set championships in late February. This marks a major milestone for the TCG, which began as a collector’s game and is now catering to competitive players.
