MTG Arena is set to release a new format called Timeless on December 12, 2023. This format will allow access to every card on Arena, with some cards being restricted due to their power level. Timeless is similar to the Vintage format in paper Magic, but it will also feature digital-exclusive and rebalanced Alchemy cards. The format currently has three cards on its Restricted List: Channel, Demonic Tutor, and Tibalt’s Trickery. Players will receive compensation in the form of wildcards for any cards added to the Restricted List. Timeless will have permanent dedicated unranked and ranked queues, and there is a possibility of Timeless Anthology sets being released in the future. The format has the potential to be used for tournaments, but this has not been confirmed by Wizards of the Coast. Overall, Timeless is expected to be a highly competitive and popular format on MTG Arena.
