The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Commander cards are coming to MTG Arena, and fans who purchase the preconstructed decks will receive digital copies of Commander cards for the game. The four Commanders coming to Arena are Pantlaza, Sun-Favored, Admiral Brass, Unsinkable, Clavileno, First of the Blessed, and Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood. Xolatoyac is an interesting choice, as it does not care about a particular MTG creature type, leaving the collection looking unsymmetrical. The reason for not including Hakbal of the Surging Soul is unclear, but it may be due to similarities with the already popular Merfolk commander, Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. These Commanders will not be playable in Standard MTG Arena decks, but can be used in Brawl or Historic Brawl. Players can craft the Commanders using wildcards, and those who play with the preconstructed Commander decks at their local WPN store will also be eligible to receive these Commanders for their Brawl decks.
